Safe Moving and Handling of People – Overview
The Safe Moving and Handling of People course is designed for care workers/nurses and anyone who is involved in the moving and handling of people.
Every year the NHS loses on average 5% of their annual budget through back injuries to their staff. Litigation has resulted in sums exceeding £800,000 being paid in compensation for back injuries caused by lifting/moving patients.
This course has been prepared to ensure employers are able to meet their statutory obligations for manual handling training and that all staff are fully up to date with regard to their statutory manual handling responsibilities.
