Food Safety in Catering FAA Level 2 Award (QCF) – Overview
The FAA Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering (QCF) has been designed to benefit employees at all levels, particularly those who hold, or are about to hold, a food safety role within their organisation.
The course will clarify aspects of food safety which many of us believe to be complex and daunting. The importance of food safety in catering is underpinned by Health and Safety legislation that places a duty on employers to establish policies and procedures and ensure their employees receive appropriate training.
Food Safety in Catering is a 1 day course with a minimum of 6 hours classroom contact time.

- Employees responsibilities
- Importance of preparing food safely
- Importance of keeping the work areas clean and hygienic
- Importance of personal hygiene
- Safe storage of food
- Waste disposal
Assessment and Certification
Assessment is ongoing by the instructor and culminates in a written test. Successful candidates will be awarded the FAA Level 2 in Food Safety in Catering. There is no expiry date on the certificate, but it is expected that candidates will attend refresher training in order to keep up to date with changes/developments in policies/legislation.
A maximum of 16 students can be accomodated at any one time on this course, with a minimum age of 14 years.
