FAA Level 2 Award (QCF) 1 day course in Emergency First Aid at Work is designed to meet the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) where an organisation’s risk assessment of First Aid needs identifies that there is a requirement for Emergency First Aid at Work practitioners. All learners will have the skills and the knowledge to provide Emergency First Aid to casualties in a safe, effective and timely manner.
The Emergency First Aid at Work course is designed to be completed in 1 day, with a minimum of 6 contact hours in the classroom. Some pre-course activity may be required.

Assessment and Certification
Formative practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor, plus a summative multiple choice question paper at the end of the day. Students who satisfy the assessment criteria will be issued with an FAA Level 2 certificate in Emergency First Aid at Work, valid for 3 years from date of issue. The HSE do however, recommend that students attend an annual First Aid Refresher course (3 hours)
A maximum of 12 students can be accomodated on this course at any one time, with a minimum age limit of 14 years for the certificate. However, the student is not entitled to claim the official title of ‘Emergency First Aider in the Workplace’ until they are 16 years old and it is then the responsibility of the employer to ensure they are suitable for the role. The certificate will expire 3 years from the date of issue regardless of age.
